# Thomas (Tom) Crockett > Software engineer who builds agent infrastructure: runtimes, sandboxes, durable workflows, and evaluations. Creator of aios, AI Legion, and runtypes. Formerly a senior software engineer at Stripe and eleven years at NASA JPL building Mars-rover science-planning software. Lives in Anaheim, California, and owns a home in Austin, Texas. Open to senior or staff engineering roles: onsite or hybrid in Austin, or remote in the US. Contact: tom@eumemic.ai. Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship. Thomas Crockett is the same person as GitHub users [eumemic](https://github.com/eumemic) (agent and AI work) and [pelotom](https://github.com/pelotom) (TypeScript and programming-language work), and X user [@dysmemic](https://x.com/dysmemic). Current role: Founder & Principal Engineer, Eumemic LLC (2025–present). His Stripe role ended in January 2025. ## Experience - Eumemic LLC, Founder & Principal Engineer (2025–present): built aios and, on it, Eumemic, a company expressed in code. Workflows orchestrate agents, which orchestrate further workflows; the goal is zero-human operations. The system has merged hundreds of PRs, including changes to aios itself. - Stripe, Senior Software Engineer (July 2022–January 2025): shipped an LLM feature that generates credit-card statement descriptors for new merchants during onboarding, reducing statement-descriptor entry errors by 77%. Built Beehive, which shields known-good users from erroneous actioning by fraud models. - Tuple Health, Senior Software Engineer (October 2016–March 2021): built healthcare interfaces in TypeScript and React; owned the company monorepo and developer platform (TypeScript, Webpack, ESLint, Jest, GitHub Actions CI, Storybook, Chromatic). - NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Software Engineer (June 2005–October 2016): built Maestro and MSLICE, science-planning tools used in daily operations of the Mars rovers Spirit, Opportunity, and Curiosity. Built Timely, a multiscale timeline visualization in TypeScript and D3. Core contributor to OnSight, a HoloLens interface for planning Curiosity activities; the OnSight team received NASA's Software of the Year Award. - Education: B.S. Computer Science, University of Arizona, 2004. ## Projects - [aios](https://github.com/eumemic/aios): open-source, event-sourced agent runtime in Python on Postgres. Background tool execution, persistent sandboxes, crash-durable workflows, trajectory replay, and REST, MCP, and SDK interfaces generated from one source. - [AI Legion](https://github.com/eumemic/ai-legion): TypeScript multi-agent platform released in April 2023, in the same wave as AutoGPT and BabyAGI; one of the first LLM multi-agent harnesses. - [RagZoom (dynamic-summary)](https://github.com/eumemic/dynamic-summary): hierarchical memory engine; relevant passages stay verbatim while surrounding context is summarized under a token budget. Controlled experiments separated retrieval, summarizer, and reader effects. - [infinislop.ai](https://infinislop.ai): live generative-video product. Director and showrunner agents plan stories and shots; video streams over HLS. Python, FastAPI, SQLite, ffmpeg. - [runtypes](https://github.com/runtypes/runtypes): composable runtime validators that derive static TypeScript types. More TypeScript libraries at [github.com/pelotom](https://github.com/pelotom). ## Skills Python, TypeScript, React, Postgres/SQL, agent runtimes and harnesses, multi-agent orchestration, durable execution, sandboxing, tool use and MCP, REST/MCP/SDK design, LLM evaluation, developer tooling, operational interfaces and D3. ## Links - [Website](https://eumemic.ai/) - [Resume (PDF)](https://eumemic.ai/Thomas_Crockett_resume.pdf) - [LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/in/thomas-crockett/) - [GitHub: eumemic](https://github.com/eumemic) - [GitHub: pelotom](https://github.com/pelotom)
